Annual Status of Education Report 2011

This report is based on a survey conducted by the South Asia Forum for Education Development. It has assessed the learning outcome of school-going children, between five and 16 years of age, in 84 rural and three urban districts in Pakistan. It reveals that a majority of children, attending private as well as government schools and clearing primary level, cannot even read second grade texts in Urdu, English or their mother tongue, or perform basic arithmetic calculations.

BVS Alumni News: Deena Minoo Mistri Campus

BVS Parsi High School Alumni worldwide have kicked off a campaign to fund a TCF school to honor the memory  of former school principal, the late Mrs. Deena Mistri.

A suitable site has been identified in Karachi for the Deena Minoo Mistri Campus. An event was held at the Beach Luxury Hotel on Jan 29, 2012,  to acknowledge the work of Mrs. Mistri. TCF Chairman, Mushtaq Chhapra addressed the gathering.

An Education Emergency in Pakistan threatens tens of millions of children. The country has the second lowest school enrolment rate in the world. As the largest education non-profit in Pakistan, TCF is working to improve the situation.
