Earthquake Rehabilitation

Education for underprivileged children remains the primary focus of TCF.   The need for schools in the earthquake affected areas is assessed and schools are built to quality standards ─ the hallmark of the model education system of TCF.

In the aftermath of the recent earthquake in Pakistan, TCF continues to assist in an extensive rehabilitation program ─ delivering on its promise to donors who placed their trust and confidence in TCF.   

Providing emergency relief was TCF’s priority in the early stages, followed by the rapid construction of winterized shelters.   Construction of 6,300 insulated winterized shelters* was completed ahead of schedule.  The shelters have been built on the land owned by the earthquake victims and will serve as ‘annexes’ to the main house structure.        

Assistance is now being provided to villages and communities through an integrated approach of capacity building, rebuilding of infrastructure, building an efficient water supply system and TCF is also providing training and technical assistance to the residents to rebuild their new homes. 

* 3,298 of these shelters were funded by a grant from UNDP to TCF.
