Two TCF students at prestigious business schools in Karachi

Sunil Kumar has lofty dreams
“Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani is my role model,"says Sunil Kumar, a TCF alumnus and son of a small-time businessman, who identifies profoundly with the late Indian business tycoon and Ambani’s rag-to-riches story. Currently enrolled at the Institute of Business Management, a prestigious business school in Karachi, Sunil aspires to become a successful entrepreneur like Ambani.
“I saw a documentary on the Ambani group some four years ago,"he says. “It showcased how the company’s strategies, its innovation and its vision led it to new heights of success. It motivated and inspired me, and allowed me to dare to dream of greatness.”
And, why not? Sunil aims for nothing short of the best. Not missing any opportunity for growth, he also attended a Young Leaders’ Conference (YLC) through TCF. Describing the conference as an eye opener, he says:
"I had no idea what YLC was. It was an incredible opportunity to learn about organizational culture and the professional environment. It inspired me even more.”
Now more determined than ever, Sunil is working hard to earn high grades to be eligible for scholarships for an MBA degree from an overseas school. He would like to return to Pakistan to start his own business. Look out, Bill Gates!

Not another Bill Gates (yet) but Nadeem Arain has reason to smile
Born in a farming family from village Goth Jan Mohammad, Nadeem is at the prestigious Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi, on a full scholarship.
Nadeem has been at the top of his class since he was in 4th grade. In 2007, he scored A+ in the government secondary school tests while at the TCF school in Ibrahim Goth on the outskirts of Karachi. In 2009, he again scored an A in the higher secondary (12th grade) exams from DJ Science College and was accepted at IBA on an academic scholarship.
All his siblings (two younger sisters and a brother) have been at TCF schools. “We tutored younger children at home to supplement our family income. My father works as a daily-wage worker at a factory. He couldn’t afford our education but TCF helped me through my education and also with getting scholarships to DJ Science College and IBA”.
Nadeem is confident about what he wants to do. “I would like to be a computer science professional because it is a promising career and also because this field is linked with education."
Planning to utilize his talents as a computer scientist, Nadeem says: “I want to make underprivileged students aware that they should take stronger interest in computer science because this is the way to get ahead in the present world scenario. You may be surprised to know that many of my peers — teenagers like me — don’t know how to use a search engine. I want to make it easy for children to learn about computers. There is information relevant to Pakistan that you cannot access even on Google. I want to work in this field and make my country known to the world. I may not become another Bill Gates but I certainly have to make my country and my family proud.”
