Connecticut – September 29, 2007

About 100 people from 30 families came together to share Iftar, raise awareness for TCF and launch a Zakat campaign in the community. 

$15,000 were raised to support the ‘Sophia Campus’, a TCF school project being funded by Northeast Region Chapter.

Indianapolis – September 8, 2007

Pakistan American Friendship Association held its second fundraising event to benefit TCF and raised over $49,000 for the completion of 'Campus of Hope', a TCF school in the earthquake affected area of Batagram in the NW Frontier Province. 

The school opened its doors this fall and enrolled its first batch of 25 children. 

The event was attended by 275 guests and included a cross section of several community groups. Todd Rokita, Indiana Secretary of State, was among the honored guests. National City Bank and UpNet were corporate sponsors of the event. 

The program included a silent auction, a live auction, dinner and an entertaining performance by Alamgir.

Seattle, Washington – June 29, 2007

Microsoft supporters organized a lively concert by the Microsoft Pakistani band ‘TMB’. 

The outreach event raised $6,369. for ‘Dreamfly Badin Campus’.

Palo Alto, California – June 16, 2007

Co-Founder addresses entrepreneurs at OPEN ‘Forum 2007’ 

Ahsan Saleem presented the TCF story at Silicon Valley OPEN (Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs) Forum 2007. 

Speaking on education aspects of Social Entrepreneurship, Ahsan stated that the primary objective in starting TCF in 1995 was to take underprivileged children off the streets and put them in schools in their own communities of urban slums and far-flung villages of Pakistan. 

Describing the operations and management structure of TCF, Ahsan said "We are professionally managed by the best managers in Pakistan - and we are as effective and efficient as our own companies". 

A lively Q&A followed the panel presentation with many compliments for the mission and achievements of TCF.

Los Angeles, California – March 25, 2007


Southern California Support Group held its first fundraiser luncheon at The Hyatt in Long Beach to raise funds for a primary school in Minhala, Punjab. 

Speakers included Pervaiz Lodhie, CEO of LEDtronics, who presented compelling reasons for supporting education as the best investment for Pakistan’s progress. Local businessman-philanthropist Salim Adaya, and Consul General Syed Ibne Abbas delivered brief testimonials in support of TCF and its programs. 

Guests were entertained in style by Alamgir who also gave an emotional rendering of Khalil Gibran's poem ‘Giving’

TCF CEO visits U.S.

S.P. Shahid, CEO of TCF, was at Stanford University in California to attend a 2-week program in executive management of non-profit organizations. 

California supporters had an opportunity to meet the CEO at community events and to learn about the significant role of U.S. donors. 

S.P. Shahid also met with community groups in Texas, Indiana, and New York.

Palo Alto, California – March 24, 2007

Northern California Chapter held a ‘Donor Recognition Luncheon’ at Four Seasons Hotel in Palo Alto. Danial Noorani, President TCF-USA, reported recent progress in the corporate matching gifts program. 

The luncheon was attended by Julia Bergman, President, Central Asia Institute (CAI), who thanked TCF-USA for the gift of quality text books supplied to CAI schools in the Skardu-Baltistan region in northeastern Pakistan. 

The books gifted to CAI are the high quality text books used in TCF schools.

Silicon Valley, California – March 23, 2007

Pakistan American Culture Center (PACC) organized a dinner and cultural program to celebrate Pakistan Day in Silicon Valley at Cupertino Community Center. 

TCF-USA President, Danial Noorani, and visiting CEO S.P. Shahid presented for TCF. Alamgir provided contemporary and nostalgic entertainment with a gracious appearance by famed singer Naheed Niazi and her California family.
