TCF-USA TAKES FIRST IN SKOLL FOUNDATION COMPETITION
TCF Wins the Skoll Social Entrepreneur’s Challenge!
Last month, The Citizens Foundation-USA participated in a fundraising competition held by The Skoll Foundation. This competition brought together Skoll recognized organizations who are doing impactful work around the world and making a difference.
Coinciding with TCF’s Ramadan campaign, the Skoll fundraising project aimed to win first place in order to receive a $65,000 grant from the Skoll Foundation. While the competition was fierce, TCF persevered and took First Place in the overall challenge, winning not only the $65,000 grant, but also $83,000 in bonus prize money.
The funds raised will go towards improving the quality of education in Pakistan’s government schools. With 25 Million children out of school in Pakistan, TCF has decided to partner with provincial governments and equip them with the tools and resources necessary to run high-quality, purpose-built institutions. We can reach more children and raise more bright young minds. You can read more about the project here: https://www.tcfusa.org/recent-news/.
There was great participation and enthusiasm from the TCF-USA Chapter Leaders. The group was led by Houston and LA chapters who both raised almost $60,000 alone.
We thank all of our donors for their generous support!
