Boston Chapter leader visits TCF school in Islamabad

Marhama Alvi, TCF-USA Boston Chapter leader, has been associated with the TCF movement since 2010, but it was only in December 2021 that she had a chance to visit a TCF primary school in district Athal, Islamabad.
“The campus was so spacious and peaceful, and had such a wide play area. It had all the facilities a school should have.”

A dentist by profession, the Chapter leader has two children, 10 and 12 years old, who also accompanied her on the visit. Marhama shared how the experience would help her children understand the significance of supporting the TCF movement.
“They are now smart enough to identify the privileges they have as compared to the children coming from low-income communities.”
She was also touched by the warmth of the teachers and confidence of the students.
“The kids were laughing and having a good time. Everything was so well organized, there was no chaos, and the students were making direct eye contact in their interaction with us.”

The Boston Chapter leader was impressed by the school infrastructure and the learning environment. She expressed hope to be able to continue supporting the movement generation after generation.
